Yeah...that phrase really doesn't have the same impact after October 31st, but I figured it was worth a shot! Yesterday was great fun! We had such a wonderful halloween just being lazy and handing out candy. And by handing out candy, I mean "Hey Erin, hand me another Reeses peanut butter cup!"
Work wound up going later than expected so we didn't get back to my parents place (where we had candy duty) until it was too late. But not to let the late night hour douse our spirits, we grabbed a couple of pumpkins, cut their heads off, carved them, cooked their seeds, and made some pies out of em!
Whilst our bellies were plumpin' with pumpkin, we popped in a scary movie to finish off the night in true halloween fashion and learning a little along the way:
1. Make sure you cut the hole on your pumpkin at an angle, or it will fall on your candle after a while.
2. Pumpkin pie made from scratch has more sugar in it than you'll ever want to know...buy em from the store to reduce the guilt (What you don't know, won't have calories).
3. The infamous "cinnamon challenge" (You Tube if you don't know) is in no danger of being broken.
4. Teenagers coming to your door dressed as a "child molester," and being rewarded for it, is a sad predicator of this nations' future!
Here are a few quick pics for ya'll. Hope you had a fun weekend!
Can you guess who carved which one??
