Emily and Mike's Wedding- Simi Valley: Part I

"Wow, what an awesome wedding." I can remember just thinking that as Erin and I drove home last Saturday night. When I think back and recall the poignant moments of Emily and Mike's wedding, I could without a doubt write volumes about their love for one another. And I LOVE weddings that are all about the love!! (if that makes sense)

"Love never fails," as one of my favorites passages reads. And while we may not always be the perfect example on earth of what love is, I'd like to think that whoever we marry is the embodiment of our own idea of perfect love :)

Emily and Mike, thank you for choosing and trusting Erin and I to capture the devotion, love and trust you have between one another. We are blessed to call you friends and know that we will be seeing one another very soon! (Perhaps at a Lost party soon?) *Emily would always send me texts every week inviting Erin and I...because she's awesome like that*

Welcome home you two! We hope you enjoy :)

The Kyoto Grand Hotel: Sarah and Hanan Part 2

Happy Monday!

As promised, here is part two of Sarah and Hanan's wedding in downtown Los Angeles at the Kyoto Grand Hotel. As you can see from these next few pictures, it truly was just a gorgeous day to be married. :)

To save you some time from scrolling down to the last post, here are all the fabulous vendors who helped make this day so special. And let's be honest, we've all been to weddings that have just been utter chaos. Then, and only then, can you recognize in a heartbeat the HUGE difference it makes by having an awesome team like these people!

Once again, I gotta give some major blog love to Henry Chen for the invite to this killer wedding!

The Kyoto Grand Hotel: Sarah and Hanan...Part One

Last Sunday I had the distinct pleasure of shooting with my friend and colleague, the one and only, Henry Chen! Close by his side and being totally awesome throughout the day was Jen Berry. Thank you Jen for all your help!

Our day started off in rainy downtown Los Angeles at the Kyoto Grand Hotel. Henry had been doing his rain dance all morning in the hopes that the ceremony would not be driven inside due to the weather! Either way though, Betty from Type A Planning had it figured out with a Plan "B' all ready to spring into action should mother nature get nasty. However, Henry's dancing must have paid off because the skies parted and we were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous afternoon with blue skies and not even a drop of rain!

The day could not have gone more smoothly. Both Sarah and Hanan were so much fun!! I had a blast hanging with the guys all morning and come ceremony time, we were ready to rock and roll!

As an observer watching their story unfold, I was in awe of the constant support, love, and energy Sarah and Hanan had around them throughout the entire day! Rain could have poured, flowers could have wilted, cakes could have fallen and yet something tells me that nothing would have been different about this day for anyone involved. This wasn't a party, this was a blessed union between two people who simply couldn't wait to commit their lives to one another, NO MATTER WHAT! From the moment he saw her, Hanan committed himself to never being without Sarah; I knew this day would be no different :)

I'll always remember this day for the culture, the celebration, the love, and last but not least...the dancing! Thank you to Henry for the invite!

I hope you enjoy! And as always, blog love is awesome, it keeps me postin' more!!

Anaheim Hills Golf Course: Chau and Mohammed

Happy Monday everyone!

Last weekend I had the privilege of shooting with Jeremy Lucero and together we captured Chau and Mohammed's wedding out in the hills of Anaheim at the Anaheim Hills Golf Course (which quickly reminded me of how much I "love" the 91 freeway...I digress).

You don't need to be the head cashier at Walmart to believe me when I tell you that these two come from drastically different cultures; both steeped in tradition that goes back for thousands of years! (I shop at Walmart...nothing but love for the blue light special!)

The ceremony earlier in the day was a Chinese tea ceremony, and the actual wedding ceremony was a traditional Muslim ritual, with most of it being read in Farsi and translated into English by the officiant. I must say, it was one of the most culturally enriched ceremonies I've ever been to! Each sentence, each gesture, and each item on the wedding table had a purpose and a meaning! It was such a pleasure to capture each of these meaningful moments of a couple that loves one another more deeply than even the most decadent of ceremonies could every convey. :)

Here are a few of the faves from the day! Make it a great week!

The one up on the left is probably one of my favorite images that I've ever taken! This one has Chau written all over it :)
