Joshua Tree National Park: Theresa and Justin's Engagement Session!

A little over a week ago, Erin and I set out on one of our most exciting E-sessions yet! Erin will tell you that I was so excited about this shoot, that I could barely sleep the night before! (Yes, I know I'm a huge photo nerd)

We love Theresa and Justin and their desire to go outside the box when it comes to their photography! We wanted to do a unique location, with almost zero romantic poses (since they already have a million of those types!). Rather, we were going for a more fashion-inspired, chic, and elegant shoot. Our quest led us to the beautiful Joshua Tree National Park a few hours outside of Orange County. The huge rocks and desolate landscape were just completely opposite of where many engagement sessions take place, and that made it perfect. It was something new for everyone involved and our excitement just couldn't be contained throughout the day!

Also, we love it when our couples bring a prop of sorts to add some character to their session. We've had guitars, cell phones, beach cruisers...but once again, Theresa and Justin were 100% unique, and we loved every second of it!

We've broken this session up into two blog posts, so you'll have to stay glued to your seats for images of what they brought! If you know them, then you can probably guess immediately what they brought! If not, I'll give you a hint....combined it weights about 600 pounds! :)

Erin and I had just an amazing day with these two; Theresa and Justin were immediately comfortable and just dove right into what we had in mind for their day; they sizzled under the desert sun.

Calvary Chapel Bible Fellowship Wedding: Lori and Matthew = AWESOME

What can we say about Lori and Matthew? They are pretty much just the BEST people around! You might be trying to remember if you saw their engagement session posted in the past, but we actually didn't even meet Lori and Matthew until their wedding day! We know of many photographers who meet their couples just on their wedding day, but for us it's something we try and avoid if at all possible. It makes our job of capturing the true love between our bride and groom more challenging because they are just getting used to two strange people with cameras clicking away constantly :)

Granted, Erin is still a little strange....but I'm totally normal, I swear :)


So you remember everything I just said above...about it being hard to meet a couple AND shoot their wedding all on the same day? Yea...disregard ALL of that when you are thinking about Lori and Matthew, haha. From the moment we met them, it was instant comfort; like old friends! (it all goes back to them being pretty much the BEST people around)

Lori and Matt chose to see one another before the ceremony (which we love), so we got to take about 75 million pictures with them in a handful of great locations around Temecula! We had so much fun throughout the entire day. We laughed through the unexpected moments, and choked back tears (the ceremony was SO touching) during the joyful moments. We simply wouldn't want to change one millisecond of our day with these two. Their love is pure, and comes down to the fact that they just can't live one more day without the other right there beside them... through the happy, sad, good, or bad :)

Lori and Matthew, you both come alive in one another's presence. We are SO happy for you both and cannot tell you how honored we are to have been there to watch you begin "forever" with the love of your life!

Wow, what a crazy and fun weekend it's been! But before we head out to the desert to do an awesome engagement shoot, we wanted to leave you with a sneak preview of our next blog post of Matthew and Lori!

We had the honor of shooting their wedding last weekend and I've been itching to at least show you all SOMETHING! So while we sift through the piles of our favorite images, here are two that we've been dying to show you! More are coming in the next day!
